Ex-Pakistani Cricketer Abdul Razzaq Faces Massive Backlash For His ‘SHAMEFUL’ Comment On Aishwarya Rai

Abdul Razzaq Faces Backlash For His Comment On Aishwarya Rai

Abdul Razzaq Trolled: Former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq has ignited a storm of controversy and backlash after he made a distasteful remark about Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan during a recent press event.

The incident took place when the media was questioning Razzaq about Pakistan's performance in the ICC World Cup 2023. Instead of addressing cricket-related queries, Razzaq took an unexpected turn, and targeted the Pakistan Cricket Board with a bizarre example on Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

ABDUL RAZZAQ'S DISTASTEFUL COMMENT ON AISHWARYA RAI

At the press interaction, Razzaq stated, "Younis Khan had good intentions as a captain and it gave me confidence to perform better. Everyone over here is talking about the intention and Pakistan's team. Actually, we don't have good intentions to develop and polish players in Pakistan. If you think that by marrying Aishwarya Rai, a good and pious kid would be born, it would never happen."

NETIZENS BASH ABDUL RAZZAQ FOR HIS DISRESFECTFUL COMMENT ON AISHWARYA RAI

His statement has sparked massive outrage with social media users condemning his behavior and demanding an apology for his offensive remark. Several netizens even expressed disappointment at the lack of condemnation from other figures including Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul, who were present at the event.

Sharing the video of Addul, an X user wrote, "Abdul Razzaq is talking about "Neeyat" and shows his "badneeyat" by dragging in Aishwarya Rai for a shitty example and Shahid Afridi & others find it amusing and start clapping. This comment about Aishwarya Rai shows their mindset about Hindu women. The blatant kidnappings of Hindu women in Pakistan & their subsequent conversion after days of rape & torture has become a way of life of Hindus in Pakistan. These Pakistani men always have their eyes on Hindu women."

Another user wrote, "What to expect out of Madarsa educated Door knobs like @SAfridiOfficial abdulRazzak ? Thy will remain in their 4th century bubble and their country will keep treating women like this !" "Shameful. Casual reactions from others tell the gutter mentality," read one more comment on the video.

Meanwhile, as the controversy escalated, Gul took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify that he did not support Razzaq's statement and acknowledged that Razzaq was wrong.

Gul said, "Dear brother, @SAfridiOfficial bhai and I did not clap in the clip to endorse what Abdul Razzaq said but it was in sarcasm. No1 there appreciated or endorsed what was said by him. It was ethically and morally wrong. Everyone has a different perspective and it's always wrong to name people who r not even a part of the conversation."
