Fake Propaganda By Film Mafia: Kangana Ranaut Reacts To Thalaivii Distributor’s Claims Of Unrecouped 6 Crores

Thalaivii: Actor Kangana Ranaut hogs the limelight more for her loud and clear statements rather than films. A report surrounding the distributors demanding a refund for her past film, Thalaivii was doing rounds for quite some time. Thalaivii was a biopic based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Though Kangana's performance in the film received accolades from all over, the film failed to create a mark at the box office.

One of the big-budget films of 2021, Thalaivii, also starred Arvind Swami as ADMK founder and former state CM MG Ramachandran. A report in ETimes claimed Zee Studios had paid an advance of ₹6 crores for the distribution rights to the makers, which was yet to be recouped. The report further stated that the distributors have been reaching out to the makers through phones and emails for the last two years, but there has been no response. It was also reported that they will take a legal route now.

Kangana, known for her witty and sassy attitude, took to her Instagram handle and rubbished the rumors of film distributors asking for a refund of Rs 6 crores. Terming it fake propaganda by the film mafia, Kangana even asserted that she has even sold the rights of her upcoming film to the same distributors.

Kangana in her story wrote, "All this a fake propaganda by film mafia I have sold Emergency to @zeestudiosofficial and Thalaivii recovered all its cost before it's release. It's been two years since its release." "Endless fake news is being circulated about me, please ignore those jinki jali padi hai," the actress added.

Meanwhile, Kangana is currently gearing up for her upcoming political drama, Emergency. Apart from this, she also has Chandramukhi 2, Tejas, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda and The Incarnation: Sita in her kitty.
