‘Itna Kharab Chehra, Itni Kali…’: Gadar 2 Director Recalls Priyanka Chopra Botched Nose Surgery Ordeal

Priyanka Chopra Botched Nose Surgery: In a startling revelation, the acclaimed director Anil Sharma, whose recent release, Gadar 2, became a blockbuster, disclosed a traumatic episode in Priyanka Chopra's life that nearly took her on the verge of quitting the film industry.

Priyanka Chopra, who has established herself as a global icon, faced a really difficult time before her Bollywood debut with The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy due to her botched nose surgery.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Thikana, Anil Sharma recounted Priyanka Chopra's tumultuous phase. The director said that the actress even slipped into depression for a few months due to her nose surgery that had gone terribly wrong.

The Gadar 2 director said, "I left for a trip to America and Europe after Gadar was released, and I returned after two months and found out that Priyanka had gotten an operation on her nose because she wanted to look like Julia Roberts. This is what I read in the papers, and I wondered why she'd do something like this; she was already good-looking."

He added, "Itna kharab chehra, itni kaali lag rahi hai. Kya ho kya gaya hai isko? I called her immediately, and she came over the next day with her mother. They were in tears, they told me about the operation, which had even left a mark under her nose. It's still there to this day. They said it would take months to heal, and that Priyanka had been dropped from several projects she'd already signed."

During the interview, Anil also revealed that Priyanka's mother, Madhu said that PeeCee had undergone nose surgery due to her sinus problem.

Coming to her rescue, Anil called a veteran make-up artist, who used to work with Yash Chopra. "I called him over. I said, 'Dada, yeh ladki hai, iska kya kar sakte hain?' He said he'd do something. Three days later, we shot a screen test with her. We gave her a short wig, and once the test was shot, we showed it to people, including Sunny Deol. They all thought she was beautiful," he concluded.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Priyanka Chopra was recently seen in the action thriller web series Citadel and the romantic comedy-drama film Love Again. She will be next seen in the comedy film, Heads of State. Coming to Bollywood, she has Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
