Sunny Deol Opens Up On Being Dyslexic: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, known for his powerful on-screen presence and iconic dialogue delivery, has opened up about his childhood struggle with dyslexia. The actor, who is currently enjoying the success of his latest release "Gadar 2," candidly discussed his experience with the learning disorder during a recent conversation.
SUNNY DEOL RECALLS HIS CHILDHOOD STRUGGLE
In a recent conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Sunny Deol delved into his early years and shared a lesser-known aspect of his life, his battle with dyslexia. Opening up on the same, he shared, "Main dyslexic tha. Par us waqt kisi ko kya pata dyslexic kya hota hai hamari umar mein. Thapad padte the duffer hai padai ni aandi."
He further revealed that even today, he faces challenges in reading and writing due to his dyslexia. He mentioned that he often declines to use teleprompters on set. "Abhi bhi main likhna padhne mein woh ho jata hoon, words mereko kuch aur dikhte the. Mujhe kitni baar bolte hain teleprompter, mai bolta hoon mujhe teleprompter mat do, mujhe bata do mai koshish karunga baat karne ki," he added.
SUNNY DEOL REVEALS HE AVOIDED PUBLIC SPEAKING
Despite his learning disorder, the actor disclosed that he possessed a high IQ during his early years. However, he confessed to avoiding public speaking in the initial stages of his career. "Mera IQ bahut high tha. I had a very high IQ because school mein unhone test kiya and my IQ was over 160 or something. Mujhe takleef hoti hai, isliye main8 kitni baar kahi jau bhi to main jyada bolne se initially, shuru mein kahi mujhe mic pakda dete, mai sochunga ki bolu kya," he was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Dyslexia is a learning disorder characterized by difficulties in reading and identifying speech sounds. Individuals with dyslexia often struggle to learn to read due to their inability to recognize speech sounds, which can result in mistakes while reading. Apart from reading challenges, dyslexia can also impact writing, mathematics, and other cognitive skills.
