Gumraah Box Office Collection Day 2: Aditya Roy Kapur-Mrunal Thakur’s Film Continues To Struggle

Gumraah Box-Office Collection: Aditya Roy Kapur returned to the big screen after tasting success with his last release, The Night Manager. Gumraah helmed by debutante Vardhan Ketkar marks the debut of Aditya in a dual role. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead along with Ronit Roy and Vedika Pinto in pivotal roles.

Gumraah got its theatrical release on April 8 amid not-so-high buzz, which eventually reflected in the footfall of the viewers. The film opened with drastically low numbers. On the first of its release, the film just minted Rs 1.10 crores. It is a pure disappointment for a film that was made on a big budget of 50 crores. Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur enjoy a loyal fanbase and the early reviews that poured in received mixed reviews.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection report on Gumraah on Twitter and wrote, "#Gumraah puts up a lacklustre total on Day 1, despite holiday [#GoodFriday]... Fri ₹ 1.10 cr. #India biz. Needs a miraculous turnaround on Day 2 and 3 to salvage the show."

Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur's film was released amid mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. After a dull response on day 1, the film failed to register footfall even on the second day. As per reports, the film minted Rs 1.25 crore on its first Saturday, Day 2.
