Since Gadar's sequel was announced, everyone has been eagerly waiting to see if the actors would be able to recreate the same magic that they did 22 years ago. The makers have decided to rerelease the movie ahead of the sequel.

Sunny Deol recreates Gadar's iconic dialogue

The re-release with redesigned sound and picture quality was released on June 9 in select theatres. While the actors are keeping busy with the shoot of their upcoming movie sequel, actor turned politician Sunny Deol visited one of the theatres to attend the premiere of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.

A video that was captured at the event, shows fans cheering the Ghayal star with claps and whistles. Meanwhile, fans attending the premiere also requested that Deol recreate the iconic dialogue from the film's climax.

Sunny obliged fans' demands and said the dialogue: "Hindustan Zindabad tha zindabad hai aur zindabad rahega." Fans were delighted to hear Sunny say the dialogue and cheered for him.

Talking about Gadar 2, the sequel is set to release on August 11, 2023, and will be directed by Anil Sharma, who also helmed the original. Gadar was initially released in 2001 and also starred Amirish Puri, Om Puri, and Vivek Shauq in key roles.

Gadar 2 controversy

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel were recently involved in a controversy after videos and pictures from the set showed the actors filming a romantic scene in Gurudwara.

The romantic scene being filmed at a religious place has sparked controversy, and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has called out the makers of the film.

Reacting to the same, the film director, Anil Sharma, has apologised for hurting any religious sentiments and stated that the leaked video is unedited.
