The

have
always
been
rebuked
for
being
vulgar
and
misogynist.
Honey
Singh's
compositions
have
been
embroiled
in
controversy
in
the
past,
and
when
the
star
was
recently
asked
about
the
controversy
surrounding
the
lewd
lyrics
in
his
songs,
he
clarified
that
he
had
no
intention
of
being
misogynistic.
He
also
argued
that
if
the
lyrics
were
truly
controversial,
he

be
receiving

at
weddings.
HONEY
SINGH
REACTS
TO
CRITICISM
ABOUT
MISOGYNY
IN
HIS
SONGS
In
an
exclusive
interview
with
Pinkvilla,
the
singer-composer
questioned
why
people
listen
to
his
songs
if
they're
misogynist.
He
said,
"If
there
was
misogyny
in
my
songs,
then
why
would
someone
call
me
to
perform
at
their
daughter's
wedding.
I
have
done
so
many
weddings
in
the
last
15
years.
I
have
performed
so
much.
Aunties
come
up
on
stage
and
dance
with
me
to
the
lyric
'Aunty
police
bula
legi'.
It's
not
like
that."
He
further
pointed
out
that
earlier
too,
such
songs
were
made.
Citing
an
example
from
the
1995
movie
Karan
Arjun's
song
Mujhko
Rana
Ji
Maaf
Karna,
which
was
composed
by
Rajesh
Roshan,
Honey
Singh
said
that
people
didn't
find
that
song
derogatory.
Saying
that
people
have
become
more
sensitive
and
take
everything
in
a
wrong
way,
the
singer
added
that
people
in
earlier
times
took
entertainment
for
entertainment.
