12-year-long

estranged
couple,
Honey
Singh,
and
Shalini
Talwar
had
been
embroiled
in
a
two-and-a-half-year
legal
battle,
which
officially
closed
with
the
approval
of
their
separation
by
the
family
court
in
Delhi.
Before
sealing
the
divorce,
the
court,
in
a
final
attempt
to
reconcile,
asked
Honey
Singh
if
he
wanted
to
give
one
more
chance
at
marriage.
The
singer,
however,
said
that
there
was
no
point
living
together
now.
ACCUSATIONS
OF
SHALINI
TALWAR
Shalini
Talwar
had
previously
accused
Honey
Singh
of
domestic
violence,
making
various
allegations
which
included
mental,
physical,
emotional,
sexual,
and
economic
abuse,
both
by
the
singer
himself
and
his
family.
The
allegations
were
withdrawn
by
Shalini
Talwar
after
the
court
finalized
their
divorce
and
they
reached
a
settlement.
The
specifics
of
the
settlement
agreement
were
kept
confidential,
known
only
to
the
parties
involved.
As
per
court
directives
and
a
part
of
the
settlement,
in
September
2022,
Honey
Singh
had
issued
a
demand
draft
of
Rs
1
crore
to
his
now-former
wife.
For
the
uninitiated,
Honey
and
Shalini
got
married
in
January
2011
and
in
September
2022,
after
11
years
of
marriage,
they
mutually
filed
a
divorce
petition
under
section
13B
of
the
Hindu
Marriage
Act
in
Delhi.
Their
petition
was
accepted
and
the
court
granted
them
an
interregnum
period
of
6
months.
