Veteran Actor Javed Khan Amrohi Passes Away Due To Lung Failure; Lagaan Co-Star Remembers Him As Lively Person

In what came as a shocking news from the film industry, the showbiz world has lost a renowned and talented actor. We are talking about Javed Khan Amrohi. The renowned actor is known for his roles like Sukhlal in Chak De! India, Ram Singh in Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, Anand Akela in Andaz Apna Apna etc. According to media reports, Javed died of a lung failure in Mumbai. He was 60. The news was confirmed by his Lagaan co-star Akhilendra Mishra.
Talking about Javed's demise, Akhilendra Mishra stated that Javed wasn't keeping well for a while. He even remembered the late actor as a lively person and called him a storehouse of knowledge. "We were connected through an IPTA WhatsApp group. I came to know of his death on the same. He stayed in Mumbai with his family. He was not well for some time. I had a long association with him. We started our careers at the same time. We did many films together. We were also part of shows through IPTA. I last met him at the IPTA festival. He was lively. I considered him to be a storehouse of knowledge," Akhilendra Mishra told Aaj Tak.
Earlier, renowned painter Lalita Lajmi passed away at the age of 90 on February 13. She happened to be the sister of Hindi film director, producer, and actor Guru Dutt and her work was often by her brother's films along with those of Satyajit Ray and Raj Kapoor. Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation (JNAF) confirmed the news and wrote, "Lajmi was a self-taught artist with a keen interest in classical dance. Her works had an element of melancholy and performance, seen here in her artwork, 'Dance of Life and Death'". She was seen in a cameo role in Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par.
