Kabzaa Actor Shriya Saran Weighs In On Boycott Culture

Shriya Saran has not only come a long way in her cinema career but has proved herself as a powerhouse performer by portraying varied characters in an illustrious career in Bollywood and the South as well. She has a cult following of loyal fans who await to see Shriya on screen as she always brings out the best in each of her roles. Shriya Saran recently has been in the spotlight for two of her hit films, pan-India RRR and Drishyam 2.

At present, all eyes are on the actress as she gears up for her next pan-Indian project, Kabzaa. This will be Shriya's second Kannada movie after 2013, and it also stars Upendra, Kiccha Sudeep, and Shiva Rajkumar in lead roles.

Speaking exclusively to Filmibeat, Shriya went candid and opened up about Kabzaa and how she feels about her character and films in general.

Speaking about her character in the film, Shriya said she is an intelligent and graceful woman who believes in love and makes strong decisions in life. Further, giving her take on the pan-India movie, Shriya mentioned that she immediately fell in love with the film's story and the larger-than-life scale of the movie. She adds that Kabzaa will always be an important film in her life.

SHRIYA SARAN ON BOYCOTT CULTURE

When asked about Bollywood making only remakes from the South and the boycott culture that ran against it, is there any need for a change in the industry? Shriya weighed in on how good movies are coming from every industry. "Achi Cinema, toh chal hi rahi hai, Pathaan chali hai, usse phlele Drishyam 2 logo ko bahut pasand aayi thi. Good films have always done well in any industry. Indian films have been giving good content. And there has been interesting cinema coming from the Hindi industry as well. So, good work is happening; it's just that sometimes it doesn't go well, and sometimes it will come and it will work, and I hope Kabzaa does well eventually. And I pray and believe it will do well. The language of cinema is that you connect with a story and fall in love with it. Kun si language mein bani hai, kya hai usse farak nahi padta. Aapne picture dekhi, aapko pasand aayi, that's what matters," she said.
