Kangana Ranaut Slams 'Self-Obsessed' Bollywood Actors; Says, ‘Gym Mein Karte Hi Kya Hain’

Kangana Ranaut Slams Self-Obsessed Bollywood Actors

Kangana Ranaut Slams Bollywood Actors: Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut who is known for her bold and unfiltered opinions, has once again taken a dig at her fellow actors for their obsession over gym workouts.

While Kangana Ranaut has proven her versatility with her several films over the years often grabs the headlines for her scathing remarks on Bollywood celebrities. In a recent interview with Times Now Navbharat, Kangana once again slammed the actors as she expressed her bewilderment at the industry's fitness obsession.

KANGANA RANAUT QUESTIONS ACTORS' GYM OBSESSION

The Queen actress questioned, "Why do they always hit the gym first, regardless of the role or preparation required? I don't know, gym mein karte hi kya hain (what exactly do they do at gyms?)" Citing her own experience, she stated, "I have never received any such roles. Even in the case of Tejas Gill... Though combat training was necessary, I never resorted to gym workouts. That's a different kind of training. It's quite strange that most actors rely on the gym for every role preparation. It's very superficial."

The National Award-winning actress did not stop there. She went on to call the actors self-obsessed and said, "Our actors and actresses have become very self-obsessed. They spend their days looking at mirrors, somewhere forgetting that they are not models or pop stars. Many seem to be so influenced by westernization that they have lost sight of their role as actors. They seem to overlook the true essence of being an actor and are overly fixated on physical appearances."

KANGANA RANAUT SAYS WOMEN IN INDUSTRY ARE ALWAYS EXPECTED TO LOOK FLAWLESS

Kangana Ranaut pointed out that this obsession has led to a structure in which women in the industry are expected to arrive looking flawless, irrespective of the nuances of the characters they portray. "It seems that the primary focus has become getting dressed up for work," she concluded.

On the professional front, Ranaut, who was last seen in P Vasu's Tamil horror comedy 'Chandramukhi 2,' is currently gearing up for the release of Sarvesh Mevara's Bollywood action thriller 'Tejas.' The film will see her essaying the role of an Indian Air Force pilot. The film is set to hit screens on October 27, 2023.
