Kangana Ranaut Says 99% Of Films Struggle To Find Audience

Kangana Ranaut Makes An Appeal To Watch Tejas: Kangana Ranaut's Tejas hit the theaters on October 27. While the movie opened to mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, the film has failed to pull audiences to the theatres.

Disheartened by the lukewarm response to her film, Kangana Ranaut took to social media to appeal her fans to watch her Tejas in theaters. Her video has stirred up a storm on social media.

KANGANA RANAUT URGES FANS TO WATCH TEJAS IN THEATERS

In a video posted on Saturday, Kangana Ranaut urged her followers to support the film industry by returning to the theatres. She suggested that if the audiences enjoyed movies such as Uri, Mary Kom, and Neerja, they would also appreciate her latest offering, Tejas.

In the video, the Queen actress makes a request and says in Hindi, "Friends, my film Tejas was released in theatres yesterday. Whoever has seen this film, has been giving us a lot of appreciation and blessings. But friends, after Covid 19, our Hindi film industry has not been able to recover totally. 99% of films are not even given a chance by the audience. I know that in today's age, everyone has a mobile phone and TV at home."

She added, "But community viewing, in theatres which is an important part of our civilization from the very beginning. Dance, arts... every type of dance, folklore... are all essential. So, it is my earnest request to the Hindi film audience and especially the multiplex ones... if you liked Uri, Mary Kom, and Neerja, you will also like Tejas."

She captioned the video as, "Even before covid theatrical footfalls were dipping drastically post covid it has become seriously rapid. Many theatres are shutting down and even after free tickets and many reasonable offers drastic footfall decline is continuing. Requesting people to watch films in theatres and enjoy with family and friends or else they ( theatres) won't be able to survive. Thanks." Check out the video

NETIZENS REACT TO KANGANA RANAUT'S VIDEO

Kangana's plea didn't go down well with the netizens, and the actress was brutally trolled for the same. The netizens reminded her of Pathaan, Jawan, and Gadar 2 among several other Bollywood releases that did phenomenal business at the box office.

A user wrote, "It is. It's almost physically painful to see Kangana making these faces and trying to 'convince' people to come back to multiplexes. Her deploying tactics like '99% films are not working' to make this particular diatribe make sense." Another user wrote, "Gadar, Pathaan , Jawaan , BB2 , Gangubai , Pushpa , Dream Girl 2, Drishyam 2 and I'm sure many more even just after Covid wave have done great business. If people are rejecting only certain films then respect their decision." "Bheek maangne ka tarika thoda cazual hai. Cazual maane unopchaarik," read a third comment.
