ED Considering Summons For Tiger Shroff, Neha Kakkar & Other Celebs In Mahadev Betting App Case

Mahadev Betting App Case Update

Mahadev Betting App Case Update: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is poised to issue summons to several Bollywood luminaries, including Tiger Shroff, Neha Kakkar, and Vishal Dadlani, as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged Mahadev online betting case. This inquiry centers on the Mahadev Book application, an online betting platform that is currently under scrutiny by the ED for purportedly disbursing approximately Rs 200 crore in cash during the wedding of app promoter Sourabh Chandrakar to Harshita in the UAE.

SUMMONS TO POPUALR CELEBS

Back in February of this year, a roster of celebrities, including Vishal Dadlani, Tiger Shroff, Neha Kakkar, Elli Avram, Bharti Singh, Sunny Leone, Bhagyashree, Pulkit Samrat-Kirti Khabanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Azgar, and Krushna Abhishek, graced the wedding of Mahadev Book app promoter Sourabh Chandrakar to Harshita in the UAE. These Bollywood stars and others were engaged to perform at the wedding ceremony. However, they are now anticipated to be summoned by the ED due to allegations regarding the methods used for their payments.

ED has reportedly gathered digital evidence indicating that the event management company, responsible for handling the celebrities and decorators, among other aspects, received payments of ₹112 crore through hawala channels.

ED ON CONTROVERSY & CELEBS ATTENDING MARRIAGE

The ED stated, "Celebrities were hired to perform in the marriage. Wedding planners, dancers, decorators etc were hired from Mumbai and hawala channels were used to make payments in cash. Rs 112 Crore was delivered via hawala to an events management company in the name of M/s R-1 Events Pvt Ltd of Yogesh Popat and Hotel bookings costing Rs 42 Crore were done by paying in cash in AEDs."

Hawala is an informal method of transferring money without the physical movement of funds.

This is not the first instance of celebrities facing repercussions due to their association with the promoters of the Mahadev Online Book app. The app's second promoter, Ravi Uppal, was apprehended in September 2022, following the success bash for the app. During this event, numerous leading Bollywood celebrities were in attendance and allegedly received their payments through hawala channels.
