Mastaney Twitter Review: Punjabi film industry's long-awaited epic drama Mastaney has finally been released in cinemas on August 25. Notably, the film's excitement is not limited to only Punjabi-speaking audiences, as it is releasing in all languages, including Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.

The film's stellar star cast includes Tarsem Jassar, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, Honey Mattu, Baninder Bunny, Rahul Dev, Avtar Gill, and Simi Chahal. Set in the year 1739, Mastaney's plot revolves around a period when India was plundered and its people captured as slaves by Nadir Shah, the ruler of Iran at the time.

While journeying back to Iran via northern Punjab, Nadir Shah came across Sikhs for the first time. Intrigued, he inquired about the identity of the Sikhs and discovered their courageous warriors and their unyielding determination.

While Mastaney releases amid much fervour, moviegoers who have already watched the movie took to microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, and expressed their thoughts and shared their reviews.

Mastaney advance bookings have shown remarkable demand, indicating widespread enthusiasm amongst fans. Helmed by Sharan Art, who has previously collaborated with Jassar on projects like "Galwakdi" (2022) and "Rabb Da Radio 2" (2019), the movie is regarded as a cinematic masterpiece owing to its immense scope, impressive sets, and intricately detailed visuals.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, on August 23, took to his X account and shared his views on Mastaney. Along with a poster of the film, he extended his best wishes to his friend and actor Gurpreet Ghuggi, along with the entire team of the movie.

He wrote, "Beautifully capturing the valour and spirit of Sikhs, #Mastaney looks like an interesting period drama built on a large canvas. Sending my best wishes to my friend @GurpreetGhuggi and the entire team. Do watch it on 25th August in cinemas. रब राखा."

Punjabi veteran singer Harbhajan Mann too requested his fans to go and watch the film with family and wrote something in praise of the nation in Punjabi.

Meanwhile, actor Tarsem Jassar, who has also produced the film, spoke about his character Zahoor during a conversation with Indian Express. He said, "It [the role] was quite challenging because I have put in all my learnings of all these years as an actor into this role, and have put in whatever I could, to do it justice. It took a lot to get the character right."

He added, "When you have to accomplish your dream, you need to put in the hard work and effort for it, so I needed to do it as well. But I wanted to play a character so special that I strive for it and work hard at achieving it."
