Mithun Chakraborty's Mother Passes Away: The mother of veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, Shantirani Devi, breathed her last on Thursday, July 6, in Mumbai. The sad news of her passing was shared with the public by Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh through social media.

Kunal Ghosh expressed his sincere condolences to Mithun Chakraborty on the loss of his mother and tweeted, "Heartfelt condolences to Mithun Chakraborty for the loss of his mother. May Mithunda and her family bear this deep grief."

The news of the veteran star's mother's passing was confirmed by his youngest son, Namashi Chakraborty, during an interaction with Anand Bazaar. Namashi stated, "Yes, the news is true. Grandma is no longer with us."While the specific cause of Santirani's demise has not been disclosed yet, certain reports indicate that she had been grappling with age-related health concerns for some time now.

The news of her passing has led to an outpouring of condolences for the National Award winning-actor, Mithun Chakraborty, and his family on social media platforms. Several celebrities, politicians, and prominent figures have expressed their grief over the demise of Mithun's mother, offering their heartfelt condolences.

In an unfortunate event, Mithun Chakraborty lost his father, Basantakumar Chakraborty in 2020. He succumbed to kidney failure. He was 95. The same was confirmed by Namashi to PTI. He was quoted as saying, "Yes, my grandfather passed away last evening due to kidney failure." He had further revealed that his actor-father was stuck in Bengaluru due to the pandemic-led nationwide lockdown but was trying to reach Mumbai for the last rites.

Meanwhile, Mithun hailing from a middle-class Bengali family resided with his parents and siblings in Jorabagan during his younger years. The actor has always acknowledged his parents' hardships while striving to provide him with a promising future. He has obviously made them immensely proud with his successful career.

Currently, Mithun is occupied with shooting Dance Bangla Dance, a popular dance-based reality show airing its 12th season.
