Javed
Akhtar
has
been
grabbing
limelight
for
his
comment
on
the
infamous
2008
Mumbai
attacks
during
his
recent
visit
to
Pakistan.
The
prolific
writer
in
his
statement
said
that
Pakistanis
should
not
feel
offended
when
India
talks
about
the
26/11
attacks,
as
the
perpetrators
of
the
carnage
are
Pakistanis
and
are
still
roaming
freely.
The
acclaimed
lyricist
recently
attended
the
Ideas
Of
India
summit
held
by
ABP
news.
During
the
event,
he
addressed
his
remark
once
again.
He
talked
about
the
current
state
of
Pakistan,
where
he
said
that
he
thinks
the
formation
of
Pakistan
was
a
mistake.
He
was
quoted
as
saying,
the
formation
of
Pakistan
is
the
'biggest
blunders
that
humans
committed'.
Further
elaborating
it,
Akhtar
said,
"Formation
of
Pakistan
was
illogical.
Religion
doesn't
make
a
nation;
it
is
not
enough
glue
to
make
a
nation."
He
further
described
the
love
and
appreciation
he
got
from
the
Pakistani
audience,
as
he
said,
"The
auditorium
was
packed,
everyone
was
cheering,
conversations
were
interesting
and
informal.
Then
a
lady
said
Pakistanis
treat
us
with
huge
respect
and
warmth
but
don't
get
that
in
return,
and
Indians
think
of
every
Pakistani
as
a
terrorist.
So
I
did
answer
in
the
most
polite
manner
possible."
While
Javed
Akhtar
was
lauded
in
India,
his
comment
irked
the
Pakistanis,
who
slammed
the
writer
through
several
social
media
posts.
Talking
about
the
reaction
he
said,
"It
became
too
big,
it
is
embarrassing,
I
shouldn't
gloat
over
it,
the
reaction
was
as
if
I
have
won
third
world
war."
For
the
unversed,
Pakistani
actress,
Saboor
Aly
took
to
Instagram
to
share
a
series
of
long
note
in
Urdu.
Her
note
stated
that,
"someone
is
coming
to
your
soil
and
insulting
your
country,
and
you
are
celebrating
him.
Giving
him
respect
and
sitting
at
his
feet.
It
is
such
a
shame" She
had
further
called
out
the
people
who
never
gave
the
same
respect
to
the
artists
of
their
own
country
and
said
that
where
were
all
the
appreciators
of
art
when
the
artists
in
their
own
country
were
at
the
end
of
their
lives
as
they
could
not
afford
healthcare.
