Nawazuddin Siddiqui Sends Settlement Draft To Ex-Wife Aaliyah, Estranged Couple To Appear Before Court Today

Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Aaliyah Siddiqui Legal Spat: After months of arguments, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Aaliyah Siddiqui are most likely to settle the legal spat amicably. The 'Sacred Games' actor has sought a settlement with his estranged wife and sent a 'settlement draft' to Aaliyah's lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee. This happened a day before the estranged couple are set to appear before the Bombay High Court for a hearing.

A report in India Today states that Aaliyah's lawyer, however, questioned the timing of the settlement draft and stated that any consent drawn between the two parties would also include the withdrawal of the defamation suit.

NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI'S SETTLEMENT DRAFT STATEMENT

The draft received by Aaliyah's lawyer on Saturday evening proposing a settlement from the actor's lawyer, reads, "These consent terms are open for discussion. We expect to receive your proposed terms before the hearing, which is on 27th March 2023."

Earlier on March 23, both parties had told another bench of the Bombay High Court during the hearing that they were willing to settle all the issues for the sake of their children.

NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI FILES DEFAMATION SUIT AGAINST HIS BROTHER & EX-WIFE

For the uninitiated, on March 20, the Gangs Of Wasseypur actor filed defamation cases against his brother Shamsuddin and ex-wife, Aaliyah. The suit sought a public apology from both of them and even requested the court to pass an injunction restraining them to defame the actor in the future. The case will be heard by the Bombay High court on March 30.
