Nitin Desai Demise: Hrithik Roshan’s Jodhaa Akbar Art Director Found Dead In His Studio; Suicide Suspected

Life is quite unpredictable and each day proves the same in several ways. Just when the film industry is gearing up for an eventful month, a heartbreaking news has left everyone in shock. As per media reports, renowned art director Nitin Desai has passed away. Reportedly he was found dead in his studio in Karjat.

According to media reports, while police is investigating the matter, it is speculated that Nitin Desai died by suicide. More details in the case are awaited.
To note, Nitin Desai started his career as the fourth assistant director for Tamas. However, he got the recognition with 1942: A Love Story and later he got the opportunity to work in Slumdog Millionaire 2008.
He even went on to open ND Studios in 2005 in Karjat. Nitin Desai has worked as an art director in several Bollywood hit movies like Shah Rukh Khan starrer Devdas, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Jodhaa Akbar, Aamir Khan's Lagaan, Salman Khan's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam etc.
For the uninitiated, Nitin Desai has also won National Film Award for Best Art Direction four times for Lagaan, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Devdas. His last film happened to be Ashutosh Gowariker's 2019 release Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead.
The news of his demise has sent a wave of shock across the nation. Former Union Minister of Civil Aviation Praful Patel took to social media to mourn Nitin Desai's demise. Sharing the late art director's pic, he tweeted, "The artistic world mourns the loss of Shri Nitin Desai, a visionary art director whose creative legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his remarkable work. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti"
