OMG 2 Early Review: Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi's Social Drama ‘Will Make You Proud Of Our Culture'

OMG 2 Early Review: Akshay Kumar's is back again with his most successful movie, Oh My God's sequel. Directed by Amit Rai, the satirical comedy-drama also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles.

Akshay will be seen playing the role of Lord Shiva's messenger, while Pankaj is a devotee who challenges the Indian education system to get justice for his son. Yami will be seen essaying a lawyer in OMG 2.

While this has created considerable buzz amongst fans, also because of its controversy with the censor board, the sequel's first review is out and hailed as an important film.

As the audience waited with bated breath to see their favourite superstar Akshay on the screen, a screenwriter named Rohan Shankar, who has written scripts for films like Mimi and Luka Chuppi, applauded the film and the performance of the star cast.

After watching the film's special screening, Shankar took to his Instagram handle, shared the poster for OMG 2, and gave his review of the movie. He wrote, "The most important film to come out of Indian cinema in a long time. #OMG2 is here to make you laugh, smile, cry, educate & feel proud of our culture."

He then went to thank Askhay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, Amit Rai and Ashwin Varde for making the movie. Concluding his note, he wrote, "Don't miss to experience this film in theatre."

Meanwhile, the film was embroiled in a controversy relating to its certification, as the censor board felt the need to review it before its release to avoid any backlash as it centres around the subject of religion.

Reportedly, after 27 cuts, OMG 2 was cleared for release with an 'Adults Only' certificate. The film focuses on the significance of sex education among teenagers.
