Govind Namdev Calls Out CBFC For Giving OMG 2 ‘A’ Certificate; Says, ‘Jo Dimag Adipurush Jaisi Behuda…’

Govind Namdev Slams CBFC For Giving OMG 2 A Certificate

Govind Namdev Slams CBFC: Actor Govind Namdev has taken a stance against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for granting an 'A' or Adult certification to the film OMG 2, a sequel to the hit movie OMG: Oh My God.

GOVIND NAMDEV'S FB POST

In a thought-provoking Facebook post, Govind Namdev highlighted the film's journey, and also recounted how OMG 2 underwent 24 censor cuts before being assigned an 'A' certificate. The actor argued that the film, intended for teenagers, has been subjected to unnecessary censorship, which restricts its target audience.

Namdev who reprised his OMG role of a priest in OMG 2, the sequel wrote a long note on the Akshay Kumar starrer's struggle to get a U/A certification from the censor board.

Namdev on his social media wrote, "OMG, O MY GOD is released finally with 24 Censor cuts and senseless A certificate so that teenagers should not see the movie for whom the movie is made, And Censor has passed it!"

He further compared CBFC's approach to OMG 2 with its handling of Adipurush, a controversial adaptation of the Ramayana, and remarked, "Jo dimaag censor board ko Adipurush jaisi behuda film mein lagana chahiye tha wo unhone 'Oh My God" jaisi thoughtful aur progressive film ko kaatne kootne mein kharch kar diya! Waah" (CBFC should've applied some brain while assessing a pathetic film like Adipurush. But instead, they diverted all their brains in chopping a thoughtful and progressive film like OMG 2)."

GURUDEV NAMDEV REQUESTS CBFC TO RECONSIDER ITS CERTIFICATION

The actor further urged the CBFC to reevaluate its stance on OMG 2. He further emphasized that the film delves into the sensitive topic of sex education and is specifically crafted for a teenage audience. He added, "It will be a wise step if Censor rectifies its mistake and give at least UA certificate to let a positive revolution set in for the betterment of our society's teenagers' upbringing."
