Oscars 2023: Academy awards are known to be one of the most prestigious awards, and India has had remarkable recognition over the years. This year, with three-Indian nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, the excitement in the countrymen is at an all-time high.

After a big win at Golden Globe, Naatu Naatu, the peppy track from RRR (2022) is nominated for the Best Original Song at the Oscars tomorrow. Apart from it, Shaunak Sen and Aman Mann's All That Breathes (2022) is in the running for Best Documentary Feature, whereas Elephant Whisperers (2022), by Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga has been nominated for Best Documentary (Short Subject).

Bhanu Athaiya - Best Costume Design - Gandhi (1983)

Bhanu Athaiya is the first Indian who received the honor for her work in Gandhi. The film based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was directed by Richard Attenborough.

Satyajit Ray - 1992

The legendary Satyajit Ray was presented with an Honorary Oscar for Lifetime Achievement in the year 1992.

AR Rahman and Gulzar - Best Original Song - Jai Ho (2009)

The year 2009 proved to be iconic as after several years of no wins at the Oscars, Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle put several Indian names on the international platform. AR Rahman and Gulzar were presented with the prestigious Award for Best Original Song (Jai Ho) for the film.

AR Rahman - Best Original Score - Slumdog Millionaire (2009)

The music maestro, AR Rahman created history by winning not one but two Oscars in 2009 for his work on Slumdog Millionaire. The second award was conferred to AR Rahman for Best Original Score.

Resul Pookutty - Best Sound Mixing - Slumdog Millionaire (2009)

Along with Gulzar and AR Rahman, Resul Pookutty was honored with the Oscar award for Best Sound Mixing award for Slumdog Millionaire in the year 2009.
