Pankaj Tripathi's Father Pandit Banaras Tiwari Death: Renowned and Bollywood's most loved actor Pankaj Tripathi's father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, has died in his hometown of Bihar. He was 98. Tripathi, who is currently basking in the success of his latest release

Pandit Banaras Tiwari breathed his last in his village, Belsand. Pankaj shared a close bond with his father, and his passing has left the actor in profound sorrow.

Pankaj Tripathi's father, Pandit Benares Tiwari, is no more. His last rites will be performed in his ancestral village, Belsand, in Barauli Block. Pandit Banaras was a Hindu priest and a farmer. Pankaj has spoken about him in many interviews.

Pandit Banaras is survived by his wife, Hemwanti Tiwari, and four children. Panjak's father and mother continued to lead a simple life in their village.

An official statement on behalf of Pankaj Tripathi and his family read: "It's with a heavy heart to confirm that Pankaj Tripathi's father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari is no more. He lived a wholesome life of 99 years. His last rites will be performed today amongst his close family. Pankaj Tripathi is currently on his way to his village in Gopalganj."

Pankaj Tripathi about his father's not knowing his works in cinema

The Gangs of Wasseypur recently revealed that despite his towering achievements, his father has not seen his films in theatre. Talking to Mashable India, the versatile actor said that his father visited his Mumbai house once for the housewarming ceremony.

"To date, he has not seen how a movie theatre looks from the inside. He sees my work if someone shows him on their computer or on the television, which was recently installed at my house," Pankaj Tripathi added.

He also said that his father is not "too proud of his achievements" and is unaware of what he does in the film industry. He had also talked about his mother not being bothered by his acting career.

Meanwhile, the actor was recently seen in OMG 2 with Akshay Kumar and Yami Gautam. The film has been performing well at the box office.
