Pooja Bhatt FINALLY Reacts To Rumours Claiming Alia Bhatt Is Her Daughter; Here's What She Said

Pooja Bhatt Alia Bhatt: Actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt recently made headlines with her appearance on Salman Khan's hosted reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2. During her stint on the show, she opened up about various aspects of her personal life.

And now, Pooja has addressed the rumours that had left many baffled in the past. Several media reports in the past stated that Alia Bhatt is Pooja's daughter. Reacting to it, the actress dismissed them and called it 'absurd.'

For the first time, Pooja Bhatt addressed the wild rumour that claimed Alia Bhatt is her daughter. In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Pooja was informed that Alia Bhatt had earlier laughed off these rumours.

When asked to weigh in, Pooja Bhatt called the rumours 'idiotic' and said, "Ye toh humare desh mein bahut purani cheez hai (This is not new in our country). Start talking about somebody's relationship with their daughter or with their bhabhi or with their sister or with their whatever."

"Now, how do you counteract that? Ke aap iss cheez ko dignity bhi de sakte hai respond kar ke? It is absurd," she said.

For the unversed, Pooja Bhatt is veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's daughter from his first marriage with Lorraine Bright, aka Kiran Bhatt. They both welcomed Pooja in 1972. However, they got divorced, Mahesh met Soni Razdan, and they tied the knot in 1986.

Mahesh and Soni welcomed their older daughter Shaheen Bhatt and had Alia Bhatt in 1993. Therefore, Alia and Pooja are half-sisters and have an age gap of 21 years.

Alia and Pooja share a very good bond, and Pooja also attended Alia's wedding with Ranbir Kapoor in 2021. Earlier, Alia also extended her support to Pooja's participation in Bigg Boss OTT 2.

Talking about her relationship with Pooja in 2014, Alia said, "Actually recently it's become much better. We have gotten close as a family. People would always say that you have a step-sister, stepmother, and all that but it never bothered me."

She added, "Because our family is so real and honest with each other. There is no façade or fakeness. So when we spend time with each other, we genuinely like to spend time with each other."
