Qala Star Swastika Mukherjee Gets Her Morphed Naked Pics In Threatening Mail, Accuses Producer Of Harassment

Recently seen in Netflix film Qala, Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee has accused film producer Sandeep Sarkar of threatening her through emails and attempting to blackmail her with morphed naked images. Swastika is co-starring in a Bengali film titled Shibpur, which is being produced by Sarkar. She has alleged that he started sending her threatening emails out of nowhere, asking her to 'cooperate' with them or face consequences, and even threatened to morph her images and leak them on pornography websites.
SWASTIKA MUKERJEE'S HARASSMENT COMPLAINT AGAINST PRODUCER
Swastika claims that Sarkar also threatened to reach out to the US consulate and prevent her from getting a US visa if she did not cooperate with him.
Swastika has stated that she completed her work on the film and had not signed up for promotional activities, and she only found out about the change in release date from the director. She received threatening emails not only from Sarkar but also from his associate Ravish Sharma, who claimed to be a hacker and threatened to morph her images. Swastika has filed a complaint with the Kolkata police station and sought assistance from the Eastern India Motion Pictures Association.
PRODUCER SENT TWO MORPHER NAMED PHOTOS WITH EMAIL
In an interview with OTT Play, Swastika revealed that she remained silent about the incident because she wanted the smooth release of Shibpur, but the harassment did not seem to end. Along with the email, the producer even sent two of Swastika's morphed and naked images which amounted to sexual harassment.
The actress said, "It all started pretty randomly. During the entire course of shooting and dubbing, I have never been introduced to Sandeep Sarkar. It was another co-producer Ajanta Sinha Roy who communicated with us. Suddenly, Sandeep Sarkar started sending me threatening emails. He claimed that he was an American citizen and that if I didn't 'cooperate' with them he would get in touch with the US Consulate so that I never get a US visa. He also threatened to drag me to the Police Commissioner, Chief Minister, and so on. Now I have absolutely no idea what this 'cooperation' means."
The incident raises concerns about the safety and privacy of women in the film industry, and the need for stringent laws to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. Swastika's courage in speaking up about the incident highlights the need for more support and protection for women who are subjected to harassment and blackmail. The film industry needs to take steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated, and those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
