Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19, 2021, in connection with a case related to the production and distribution of pornographic content.

During the press conference, Raj Kundra was asked about the name of the film, UT 69. He revealed that the number 69 had religious connotations and was also his jail ID number. However, it was his following comment that sent shockwaves across social media platforms.

When a journalist pointed out the innuendo associated with the number 69, Raj Kundra stated, "Humara desh enjoy karta hai yeh. Kehte hai na do cheez bikti hai India mein aur Bollywood mein, Shah Rukh (Khan) aur sex." (Our country enjoys these two things. In another part of the press conference, Raj said, "I was wearing a mask only out of pain. The media trial was very painful. In fact, it was more painful than my legal trial. I don't blame the media because they were doing their job but it was so painful that I had to wear a mask and cover up. I didn't want to be seen or spotted or get my pictures clicked."
