Windows Productions, renowned for its content-driven cinema and adored by its audience, is gearing up to release its grandest film to date this Puja season. Presented by Windows and Sanjay Agarwal, "RAKTABEEJ," as it's titled, marks a significant departure as a gripping thriller from the esteemed director duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee.

Inspired by the 2014 Burdwan blast that shook both Bengal and the nation, the film revolves around the return of a man holding a vital position. A fortuitous blast at a firecracker facility unravels a more profound threat to his life. Today, Windows Productions unveiled the film's teaser, signaling the countdown to Durga Puja 2023.

Leading the film is Padma Bhushan recipient Victor Banerjee, renowned for his collaborations with directors like Roman Polanski, James Ivory, Sir David Lean, Jerry London, Ronald Neame, Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, and Shyam Benegal. The cast also includes Anasua Majumdar, Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Kanchan Mallick, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Satyam Bhattacharya, Debasish Mondal, Devlina Kumar, and more.

On October 2, 2014, coinciding with Mahashtami that year, an explosion rocked a two-story building in Burdwan's Khagragarh locality. The police were informed, prompting swift action. However, two women within the building obstructed their entry, threatening to detonate the premises and eliminating several documents and evidence. They were apprehended, and the police discovered over 50 improvised explosive devices within the house.

Shiboprosad shared, "Raktabeej is our first directorial to release in Puja and we are supremely excited. The film unfolds in the backdrop of Durga Puja and for us, even the shoot was a celebration of sorts. The teaser shows some glimpses of the film. Each frame has a story to tell --- it's connected to the mystery that the film deals with. Both Didi (Nandita Roy) and I can't wait to unravel the mystery on the big screen"
