Ranbir Kapoor Calls 'RomCom' A Difficult Genre

Meanwhile, during the promotions of the film, Ranbir Kapoor said that romcom is a difficult genre as it has failed on multiple occasions. "I haven't done Romcom films for a while. I also felt that this genre is perhaps gone. Not only in India, but globally many romcoms failed. When Luv (Ranjan, director) came to me he came with some other script. That did not happen due to date problems. But then he told me this idea and I liked it. I really liked my character. He believes in love. I am not playing any casanova like many people are perceiving the character to be. I am a character who believes in all-out love in this film. He believes in relationship dynamics. But when he falls in love, he falls for a difficult woman. She turns out to be a liar. That's when he brings out the 'makkar' side of his character."
