Ranbir Kapoor Summoned By ED In Online Betting Case: Reports

Ranbir Kapoor Summoned: Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged online betting app case. ED sent the summons to the actor on Wednesday and the actor has been asked to appear before them on October 6.

ED SUMMONS RANBIR KAPOOR IN BETTING CASE

In a shocking turn of events, Ranbir Kapoor who is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Animal, has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection to the Mahadev online betting app case.

The agency has asked Kapoor to appear in front of them on 6th October. The case is related to a money laundering investigation against the founders of the Mahadev betting app, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal. In a previous development, the ED had seized proceeds of crime worth Rs 417 crores during the investigation.

As per reports the actor who promoted the Mahadev betting app as a social media influencer received compensation in return. As per a report by India Today, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also investigating the involvement of several other Indian and Pakistani celebrities, including Ranbir Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Neha Kakkar, Atif Aslam, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who attended the wedding of Sourabh Chandrakar in Dubai.

Off late, the Mahadev betting app case has been grabbing the limelight. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted several raids in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bhopal to investigate the app and its alleged money laundering networks. Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal are the founders of the app and website, which offer illegal online casino and betting platforms in India. Although the app is banned in India, the duo operate their business in several other countries.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor's last film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar was a massive success and the actor is currently gearing up the release of his upcoming film, Animal also starring Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor among several others.
