The viral video shows a woman dressed provocatively entering an elevator, her face digitally manipulated to closely resemble that of the acclaimed actress, Rashmika Mandanna. However, upon closer examination, it becomes evident that the video is a deepfake, a digitally morphed creation.

However, the deception is so convincing that it has amassed millions of views on social media platforms. Abhishek Kumar, a journalist, traced the origins of this fake video. Sharing the original and the fake videos in X thread, he called for the implementation of new 'legal and regulatory' frameworks to address the use of fake images online.

Meanwhile, the original video was initially posted on Instagram on October 8 and it features a woman named Zara Patel. It is worth mentioning that there is no evidence that suggests Patel was involved in creating the deepfake version of the video. However, numerous celebrities from various industries have increasingly become targets of deepfake videos in recent years.

An examination of both the real and fake versions of the video reveals that Patel's face is visible at the beginning of both. However, after approximately one second, her face transitions into that of Rashmika Mandanna. Check it out here.

Amitabh Bachchan & Other Social Media Users React To Morphed Video

Meanwhile, upon learning about the fake video, several social media users strongly voiced their opinions against such creations. Rashmika also got support from Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan who demanded legal action against the creators of such deepfake content.

Big B took to Twitter and wrote "Yes, this is a strong case for legal action."
