Dil Chahta Hai Actor Rio Kapadia Passes Away; Last Rites To Take Place Tomorrow

In what came as a heartbreaking news from the industry, a popular Bollywood actor passed away this morning. We are talking about Rio Kapadia who is known for her roles in movies like Shah Rukh Khan's Chak De India & Happy New Year, Aamir Khan's Dil Chahta Hai, Khuda Haafiz, The Big Bull, Agent Vinod, Made In Heaven 2, etc. He was 66.
The reason for Rio's unfortunate demise is yet to be known but the news has been confirmed by his friend Faisal Malik to IndiaToday.in. According to the reports, Rio Kapadia's funeral take place on September 15 at Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregaon. To note, Rio is survived by his wife, Maria Farah, kids Aman and Veer.
A statement was also issued by a family friend which read as, "Dear friends, with great regret I wish to inform you guys that our dear friend Rio Kapadia passed away at 12:30 pm today."
Earlier, Rio, who is quite active on social media, shared pics from his journey in the industry. He had captioned the post as, "So from 2002 to date movies have been quite exciting, meeting n performing with stalwarts n excellent directors and crew. Here are some......"
While Rio has been a part of several movies, he was last seen in Made In Heaven 2 wherein he played the role of Mrunal Thakur's father. Apart from movies and series, Rio is also known for his work in several television series including Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Kutumb, Judwa Raja, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, etc. He also played the role of King Gandhar in Mahabharat in 2013.
Interestingly, apart from acting, Rio is also known for his impeccable sketching skills and had shared sketches of celebs like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit etc. According to Networthpost, Rio Kapadia is around $950,000 which is over Rs 78 million.
