RARKPK: Karan Johar Reveals Why Ranveer-Alia Starrer Didn’t Have Shah Rukh Khan’s Cameo; ‘It Will Be Too Much’

Karan Johar Reacts To Shah Rukh Khan's Cameo In RARKPK: Karan Johar has returned to the directorial chair after a hiatus of seven years with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film has proven a blockbuster success and has kept fans enthralled with its compelling narrative and enchanting music.
The love story starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh has soared to new heights with Johar's signature directorial prowess. The song Heart Throb, featuring Ranveer Singh and a collection of cameos by Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, Sara Ali Khan, and Varun Dhawan, has garnered significant attention.
Amid the buzz, fans couldn't help but wonder why the iconic Shah Rukh Khan was not part of the star-studded cast.
During an exclusive interview with film critic Sucharita Tyagi, Karan Johar unveiled the truth behind Shah Rukh Khan's absence. He said, "Shah Rukh did the most defining scene for me in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and for that, I will always be very grateful to him. I can't keep using my privilege with Shah Rukh. I can't push it."
Recalling the dedication Khan exhibited during the filming of the movie Brahmastra, which was directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar, he added, "He just gave his heart, time, body-everything-for that sequence. It was a large sequence. If I go again to him, it will be too much. Shah Rukh never says no to me. But I can't keep going to him. I think you need to keep that card very close. I will use it because I have that kind of access to Mr. Khan, but I don't want to keep using it for no reason."
Meanwhile, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's entry into the 100-crore club at the Indian box office, along with a global earning of Rs. 200 crores, determines its widespread appeal. The star-studded cast ensemble of the film also includes veteran actors Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra.
