Rohan
Vinod
Mehra
Interview:
Rohan
Vinod
Mehra,
who
is
currently
basking
in
the
success
of
his
latest
release,
Kaala.
He
plays
the
role
of
an
indicted
army
officer
in
the
thriller
show
created
by
Bijoy
Nambiar,
which
has
left
an
impressive
mark
among
aduicne.
Rohan,
who
is
the
son
of
the
late
actor
Vinod
Mehra,
had
his
own
share
of
ups
and
downs
in
the
film
industry.
Though
coming
from
a
cinema
background,
Rohan
hasn't
had
an
easy
path
like
the
other
star
kids.
In
recent
times,
Bollywood
has
been
accused
of
nepotism
and
groupism,
leading
to
fewer
opportunities
for
outsiders.
During
an
exclusive
conversation
with
Filmibeat,
the
actor
opened
up
about
his
struggles
and
why
nepotism
doesn't
work
for
every
celebrity
kid.
Rohan
Vinod
Mehra
on
his
struggles
Rohan
made
his
debut
in
2018
with
Baazaar
and
has
been
seen
less
on
screen.
Talking
about
the
same
and
his
struggles
even
after
getting
a
decent
launch,
the
actor
said,
"Main
selective
nahi
hu.
Logo
ko
galat
fehmi
hai
ki
selective
hu
aur
bahar
nahi
jata.
The
truth
is,
after
Bazaar,
it's
been
a
struggle,
aur
aisa
lag
raha
tha
ki
main
kahin
na
kahi
phele
se
shuru
kar
raha
hu.
Uss
film
ke
baad
bhaut
audition
diya
hai
maine.
I've
been
auditioning
almost
every
week
and
gave
three,
two,
three
auditions.
For
all
these
years,
I've
been
struggling."
"Maine
vapas
woh
ek
struggling
zone
chala
gaya
tha.
I
need
to
prove
myself.
I
need
to
get
the
role.
But
whatever
role
offer
I
had,
I've
worked
on
that
and
never
declined
any
of
them," he
added.
Rohan
Vinod
Mehra
on
nepotism
When
asked
if
nepotism
has
been
of
any
advantage
to
him,
Rohan
expressed
that
being
from
a
film
family
has
not
benefited
him
much.
"Actually,
it
hasn't
affected
me
for
sure
because
people
don't
think
of
me
when
they
think
of
that
group;
my
name
doesn't
come
up
in
that
group
from
what
I've
seen,"
he
said.
Talking
about
the
existence
of
nepotism,
the
Kaala
actor
said,
"I
think
now
everyone
can
agree
that
nepotism
does
exist.
It
is
something
that
is
in
our
industry.
It's
in
every
industry.
Everything
is
just
that
we
are
in
public
light.
We're
so
much
in
the
public
that
nepotism
or
whatever,
any
aspect
not
only
of
the
nepotism
act
but
every
aspect
of
the
industry
is
there
to
be
discussed
openly."
"So
I
will
agree
that
nepotism
does
exist,
but
I
feel
it
hasn't
affected
me.
It
hasn't
been
bad
for
me;
it
hasn't
been
good
for
me.
And
if
nepotism
were
working
for
me,
I
would
be
working
a
lot
more.
I
would
have
many
releases.
It
would
never
come
up
if
Nepotism
was
working
for
me.
So
I
think
it
proves
itself,"
he
shared.
