Film Editor Sanjay Verma, Who Won Filmfare Award For Hrithik Roshan's Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Passes Away

Sanjay Verma death: Veteran film editor Sanjay Verma, a prominent face in the Hindi film industry, passed away on Friday (August 25). Considered to be Rakesh Roshan's favourite editor, he worked with the filmmaker in several films. Verma won the Filmfare Award for best editing for Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaho Na Pyaar Hai.

SANJAY VERMA WAS RAKESH ROSHAN'S FAVOURITE

Sanjay Verma shared a close association with Rakesh Roshan as the duo collaborated for several films. He edited his hit films like Rekha starrer Khoon Bhari Maang and Hrithik Roshan-Preity Zinta's much-loved flick Joi Mil Gaya. Sanjay had edited Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, which marked the Bollywood debut of Hrithik and Ameesha Patel.

The late film editor also edited Karan Arjun, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kajol in lead roles. The action flick, directed by Rakesh Roshan, emerged as the second-highest-grosser of the year after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995.

INDUSTRY MOURNS SANJAY VERMA DEMISE

After the news of his demise surfaced on the internet, fans and industry folks expressed their grief on social media. They offered their condolences to his family, remembering his contribution to Hindi cinema. One user tweeted, "Well-known editor of films, Sanjay Verma dies today. He was known to edit films for Rakesh Roshan's Khoon bhari mang to Kaho Na Pyar hai and Koi mil Gaya. Rest in peace sir (sic)."

The industry lost another stalwart yesterday. Veteran actress Seema Deo, who was known for her roles in films like Kora Kagaz and Anand, left for her heavenly abode on Thursday (August 24). She was 81. The actress died due to age-related ailments. Her filmmaker son Abhinay Deo told PTI that she was suffering from Alzheimer's for the last three years. Her last rites were held in Mumbai today.

Seema Deo is survived by her two sons Abhinay and Ajinkya Deo.
