Bollywood Celebs React To Violence Against Women In Manipur

In what came as a shocking piece of news, a video has sent the internet in a frenzy over violence against women in Manipur. It was reported that two women were stripped, paraded naked and assaulted in a communal clash hit state. The video has been going viral and it has left everyone in shock.

And now, several celebs from the Bollywood industry have taken to social media to express their disappointment and disgust about the incident. Akshay Kumar was among the first celebrities to react to the incident. Taking the micro-blogging site Twitter, Akshay wrote, "Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again".

Sonu Sood also reacted to the horrifying incident and wrote, "Manipur video has shaken everyone's soul. It was humanity that was paraded..not the women". Renuka Shahane called the incident 'inhuman' and tweeted, "Is there no one to stop the atrocities in Manipur? If you are not shaken to the core by that disturbing video of two women, is it even right to call oneself human, let alone Bharatiya or Indian".

Earlier, Urfi Javed also strongly reacted to violence against women in Manipur and wrote, "What happened in Manipur was shameful not just for Manipur but entire India".

Meanwhile, as per the recent update, the main accused in the case has been arrested. The news was confirmed by Kukdiep Singh, the Security Advisor to the Manipur Chief Minister in conversation to CNN News 18. "He is seen in the video wearing a green check shirt. We have taken him into custody and are interrogating him," he added.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted to the shocking incident and said, "I assure the nation, no guilty will be spared. Law will take its course with all its might. What happened with the daughters of Manipur can never be forgiven. No one should be spared, and the law must take appropriate action. They will never be forgiven".
