Shehzada Box Office Collection Day 2: After A Dull Start, Kartik Aaryans Film To Boost Up On Mahashivratri?

Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer 'Shehzada' was one of the highly anticipated films of the year. However, the film started on a slow note as its first day box office collection was recorded at just Rs 6 crore. Shehzada, which marks the production debut of actor Kartik Aaryan, is the official Hindi remake of blockbuster Telugu film, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The film got tough competition from Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan and the marvels Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

Talking about the first day number, trade analyst, Taran Aadarsh wrote on twitter, "#Shehzada disappoints on Day 1, despite buy-one-get-one-free offer... National chains ordinary, mass circuits dull... #MahaShivratri holiday on Day 2 may improve biz but needs bigger jumps for a respectable weekend total... Fri ₹ 6 cr [+/-]. #India biz."

Now, talking about day 2, the movie is said to have opened at 10-11% occupancy in the morning shows, which is again a slow start. The film, however, is expected to boost up considering Mahashivratri holiday and might collect Rs 7 Cr at the box-office. Shehzada which has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the viewers needs to collect at least 25 cr nett for the weekend.

Meanwhile, Shehzada was earlier slated to release on February 10, however, the makers decided to postpone the date considering the craze for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathan.

Earlier film producer and trade expert Girish Johar while talking about the date shift, had told indianexpress.com that, "As a producer or as anyone connected with the film, you do seek a solo window. Ant-Man has a huge buzz globally. It's a Marvel film, and they are opening their fifth phase with this film. Marvel fans in India are excited about it and I was taken aback when the film was shifted."

Pathan, on the other hand, doesn't show the sign to slow down any time soon. As per Box Office India reports, Pathaan earned Rs 2.50 crore at the box office despite tough competition from Shehzada and the marvel release.
