According to media reports, Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Phaterpekar's son Swapnil Phaterpekar got into a scuffle with Sonu over clicking a selfie post the event. The media reports also suggested that Sonu's friend Rabbani was even injured during the fight. In the new unseen video, Sonu Nigam was seen walking down the stage when Swapnil had allegedly reached out to him for a selfie and the two got into a scuffle. The video featured Sonu Nigam being manhandled on stairs while his friend getting pushed from the stairs and eventually falling down. The video has left everyone shocked. Meanwhile, talking about the incident Sonu Nigam stated, "It was a close shave for me and Hariprakash, my bodyguard, but a very bad fall for Rabbani. A flat on your back fall from a height of 7 feet like this, could have been fatal. Madness".

Swapnil's Sister Suprada Apologises

On the other hand, Swapnil's sister Suprada Phaterpekar, who is a member of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women, apologised for the matter. She said, "Due to the rush, a commotion ensued. The person who fell was taken to the Zen Hospital and was discharged after examination, Sonu Nigam was unhurt. On behalf of the organising team, we have officially apologised to Sonu Nigam and his team for the unpleasant incident. Please do not believe any baseless rumours and those who are trying to politicise the matter".
