Renowned Punjabi Singer Surinder Shinda Passes Away In Ludhiana; Was In Hospital For 20 Days

The day has begun with a heartbreaking news from the Punjabi industry as legendary singer Surinder Shinda passed away on July 26. He was 64. It was reported that Shinda was in the hospital for around 20 days now and was under treatment for undisclosed health reasons.

According to media reports, Surinder Shinda's health had been deteriorating of late and was on a ventilator for a while now before he breathed his last this morning. Earlier, Surinder Shinda's son Maninder Shinda had informed the fans about the ace singer's health and stated that he has been hospitalised.

During a Facebook live, Maninder even revealed that Shinda's health had been improving and that he was getting a proper treatment. Earlier, he had also rubbished the news of Shinda being on a ventilator. But looks like his health deteriorated rapidly.

This isn't the first time, Surinder Shinda had made the headlines for his ill health. Earlier, his close friend Amarjit Tikka had revealed that Surinder Shinda had been facing breathing issues post infection and had even undergone a small operation.

Talking about Surinder Shinda, who is considered as the grandfather of MOC, was born in Choti Ayali village, Ludhiana district, Punjab in 1953. He is known for his Kali singing style with ace Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak and others.

Over the years, Surinder Shinda has given us several iconic songs like Jatt Jeona Morh, Kaher Singh Di Mout, Putt Jattan De, Truck Billiya, Balbiro Bhabhi etc. He was married to Dev Tharikewala's sister in law.

Apart from singer, Surinder Shinda was also seen in movies like Just Punjabi, Truck Driver, Kaim Sardari, Gun & Goal etc. He was also honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award at the 2013 Brit Asia TV Music Awards

It is undoubtedly a sad day for the Punjabi industry and the news of Surinder Shinda's demise has left his massive fan following across the world in tears.
