Sushmita Sen suffers heart attack, undergoes angioplasty, Actress says, 'I Have A Big...'

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen has revealed that she suffered a heart attack a few days ago. The 47-year-old actress took to Instagram to share the news and also update her fans on her health status.

Sushmita Sen Pens A Long Note On Instagram

Along with a picture with her father Subir Sen, the actress wrote, "Keep your heart happy and courageous, and it'll stand by you when you need it the most Shona" (Wise words by my father Subir Sen). I suffered a heart attack a couple of days back...Angioplasty done...stent in place...and most importantly, my cardiologist reconfirmed 'I do have a big heart'." The actress added in her post: "Lots of people to thank for their timely aid and constructive action...will do so in another post." Thanking her well-wishers, she wrote: "This post is just to keep you (my well wishers and loved ones) informed of the good news ...that all is well and I am ready for some life again. I love you guys beyond!!!! #godisgreat #duggadugga."

The concerned fans and followers of the actress have wished her good health. Sushmita Sen who is known for her films, Main Hoon Na, No Problem, Biwi No. 1 among several others made her OTT debut in June 2020, with the International Emmy-nominated series Aarya. Sushmita is now gearing up for the third installment of the series, as Aarya season 2 was well received by the audience.

Sushmita Sen's Illness Was The Reason Behind Her Instgram Debut

Sushmita Sen, who enjoys a massive fan following on Instagram, had once revealed the reason why she joined the social media platform. The Main Hoon Na actress was quoted as saying by Pinkvilla in 2019, "I was very very sick, and I have hair that's falling. I have become moon-faced, and I have steroid deposits. During this time, a thought crossed my mind, if this does kill me, people would never know who I was. So, one night, I just got on to Instagram and opened that page."

The former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen is a single mother of two daughters, Renee and Alisah. The actress's elder daughter, Renee Sen made her acting debut with a short film, Suttabazi.
