Leader
of
the
Vishwa
Hindu
Parishad,
Sadhvi
Prachi,
recently
made
a
derogatory
remark
about
Swara
Bhaskar's
marriage
to
Samajwadi
Party's
Fahad
Ahmad.
She
suggested
that
Swara
should
have
checked
the
fridge
before
getting
married
and
warned
that
Swara
could
also
face
the
same
fate
as
Shraddha
Walker.
The
reference
to
Shraddha
Walker
is
particularly
troubling,
as
she
was
brutally
murdered
by
her
live-in
partner,
Aftab
Poonawalla,
who,
in
a
fit
of
rage,
chopped
her
body
into
35
pieces
and
kept
it
in
the
fridge.
This
tragic
incident
shocked
the
entire
nation,
and
Sadhvi
used
it
as
a
basis
for
targeting
Swara
and
Fahad's
marriage.
WHAT
DID
SADHVI
PRACHI
SAY?
The
Hindutva
leader,
during
a
media
interaction,
had
said,
"Probably,
Swara
Bhasker
didn't
pay
attention
to
the
news
of
how
Shraddha's
body
was
chopped
into
35
pieces.
She
should
have
seen
the
fridge
once
before
taking
such
a
big
decision.
It
is
her
personal
choice.
I
have
nothing
much
to
say.
But
what
happened
to
Shraddha
can
happen
to
Swara
too.
Swara
Bhasker
has
always
been
against
the
Hindu
religion.
I
was
sure
that
she
would
marry
someone
not
from
the
religion.
She
married
a
Muslim."
SAWARA
BHASKER
REACTS
TO
SADHVI
PRACHI'S
FRIDGE
REMARK
The
Tanu
Weds
Manu
actress
has
now
responded
to
Sadhvi's
statement
by
sharing
a
social
media
post
that
criticises
her
distasteful
remark
and
emphasises
the
power
of
love
over
hatred.
Sawar
reshared
a
tweet
on
her
page
and
just
replied
with
a
purple
heart
emoji.
"The
moron
sanghis
once
again
started
a
communal
campaign
around
Swara
Bhasker's
marriage.
Blatant
islamophobic
comments
are
flooding
social
media.
But
those
deadheads
do
not
know,
love
remains
victorious,
no
matter
how
much
hate
tries.
Sending
love
and
courage
to
you
two," read
the
tweet.

Swara
Bhasker
surprised
everyone
by
announcing
her
marriage
with
political
activist
Fahad
Ahmad
on
February
16,
2023.
The
court
marriage
happened
under
the
Special
Marriages
Act,
which
allows
Indian
nationals
to
get
married
irrespective
of
their
religions
and
faiths.
A
Chicago-based
Islamic
scholar,
Yasir
Nadeem
al
Wajidi,
said
that
despite
being
legally
married
under
state
law,
Swara
Bhasker's
marriage
to
Fahad
is
not
valid
under
Islamic
rules.
