Tamannaah Bhatia Remark On South Films

Tamannaah Bhatia Remark On South Films: Tamannaah Bhatia is one of the most revered actresses down south for her contributions to Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. She has worked with prominent figures like Rajinikanth and Prabhas.

She embarked on her acting journey with the 2005 Bollywood movie "Chand Sa Roshan Chehra," but she couldn't find any success. In the same year, she made her debut in Telugu cinema with "Sri," and the subsequent year marked her debut in Tamil cinema with "Kedi."

The two films brought her into the spotlight, and she went on to taste super stardom in Tollywood. But in a recent interview with Filmfare, Tamannaah candidly discussed the dynamics of South films, highlighting where toxic masculinity is glorified.

When asked about the existence of 'toxic masculinity in the south' and if there were scenes and things she didn't agree to, Tamannaah said, "In the south, certain formulas are used because they are easy. In certain commercial films, I couldn't relate to my characters and would request that the filmmaker lower the intensity."

"Having said that, I came to a point where I stopped doing those parts. I started making a conscious effort not to be part of such films where toxic masculinity is celebrated to the point where it is almost intolerable," she told Filmfare.

Tamannaah on facing failure in Bollywood

In the same interview, Tamannaah was questioned about her South success not translating in Bollywood. Responding to it, the actress revealed that she takes her successes and failures personally and said, "The films I made here (Bollywood) didn't work because it was their destiny."

"I never took it as a personal failure because a movie is made with a lot of people contributing to it. That way, I am a bit detached from both my successes and failures. I don't take either seriously. I am alive. I am here. That's how I look at it. After 17 years, I still wake up every day wanting to do it over and over again. Acting is my passion. I wake up to face the camera. It excites me the most," she added.

Tamannaah Bhatia tasted success in 2007 with the Telugu and Tamil cinema movies Happy Days and Kalloori, respectively. In 2013, she made her comeback to Hindi films with Himmatwala. She was recently seen in Lust Stories 2 and Jailer, which became superhit and grossed ₹650 crore worldwide.
