Amid The Kerala Story Row, Shabana Azmi Reminds Netizens Of A Plea Seeking A Ban On Laal Singh Chadha: The Kerala Story created an uproar before its release citing 'factual inaccuracies'. The film has been released in theaters and is receiving strong reactions from all over.

One of the celebrities who came out in support of the film, 'The Kerala Story' was Shabana Azmi. The veteran actress took to Twitter and questioned those who were seeking a ban on the film as she compared the film with Aamir Khan's Chadha.

While several people came in support of Azmi, a section of people including actress Kangana Ranaut corrected her and said that the Aamir Khan starrer was never called for a ban.

Now, in a fresh tweet, Azmi shared a screenshot of a news piece, citing a plea demanding a ban on Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chadha. Taking to the micro-blogging site, she wrote "So twiterratis who are saying there was only boycotting of LSC and no call for ban kindly refresh your memory. There was a PIL asking for ban."

Earlier, Shabana Azmi had tweeted in support of the controversial film, 'The Kerala Story'. She compared the film with Aamir's Laal Singh Chadha and had questioned those who were demanding a ban on the film. Azmi's tweet read, "Those who speak of banning #The Kerala Story are as wrong as those who wanted to ban Aamir Khan's #Laal Singh Chaadha. Once a film has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification nobody has the right to become an extra constitutional authority."

KANGANA RANAUT'S TWEET IN SUPPORT OF SHABANA AZMI

Along with others, Queen actress, Kangana Ranaut came out in support of Shabana Azmi, however, she mentioned that no one asked for a ban on LSC rather people wanted to boycott it. Kangan wrote, "This is a very valid point except for the fact that no one asked for a ban on LSC people just didn't want to see it for many reasons, major reason was it was a remake of a very popular old Hollywood classic which most people had already seen..."
