Now, the actor has chosen to shed light on why he decided to take their romance public, at a time when most celebs choose to maintain a 'just friends' stance.

In an exclusive conversation with the Hindustan Times, Vijay Varma opened up about his life, career, and his flourishing love life. When asked about his decision to make his relationship with Tamannaah public, the actor responded with a hint of classic Bollywood romance, and said, "I love the song 'Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya' from Mughal-e-Azam."

However, it hasn't always been smooth sailing for the couple. In a previous interview with the Indian Express, the Gully Boy actor admitted that the attention surrounding their relationship had taken some getting used to.

He stated, "First of all, it's news to me that we are one of the most sought-after couples. It's very humbling and very nice, but I wasn't used to it when it first happened. I was very used to roaming around on my own. We go out together, and we tend to get a lot of attention... I am not particularly comfortable, but I am just trying to get used to it."

Interestingly, Vijay Varma initially had reservations about dating someone within the film industry. In an interview with Film Companion, he revealed that he had never thought of himself in a relationship with a fellow actor due to his earlier grievances with the industry.
