Vivek Agnihotri Manipur Files

Manipur Violence: Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri recently engaged in a Twitter exchange after a user requested him to make The Manipur Files following the success of The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. This plea came in response to Vivek's post about the plight of Kashmiri Pandits. Recently, he unveiled the trailer for his web series titled The Kashmir Files Unreported.

VIVEK AGNIHOTRI ASKED TO MAKE 'THE MANIPUR FILES'

In regards to The Kashmir Files Unreported, Vivek tweeted and expressed his concern about the Indian judiciary's failure to protect the right to life of Kashmiri Hindus as guaranteed in the constitution, referring to the Kashmiri Hindu Genocide. Reacting to his post, a Twitter user urged Vivek to make The Manipur Files if he had the courage.

The netizen wrote, "Don't waste time go and make a movie 'Manipur Files' if you are man enough."

Vivek humorously responded, expressing gratitude for the faith placed in him but also questioning whether he should be the sole filmmaker responsible for all projects. He replied, "Thanks for having so much faith in me. Par saari films mujhse hi banwaoge kya yaar? Tumhari 'Team India' mein koi 'man enough' filmmaker nahin hai kya (But, do you want me to make all the films. Isn't anyone else not man enough)?"

HERE'S WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MANIPUR

The turmoil in Manipur began about two months ago, starting on May 3, in Churachandpur town, when Kuki groups protested against a proposal to grant scheduled tribe status to the Meitei community. This led to clashes resulting in over 150 fatalities and more than 50,000 injuries.

Recently, a distressing video from Manipur emerged, capturing a violent incident that occurred during the clashes. The video portrayed two tribal women being paraded naked and subjected to molestation by a group of men, sparking massive public outrage after going viral online.

Reacting to this horrific incident, Vivek previously penned a heart-wrenching poem, expressing his sorrow and shame as an Indian, a man, and a human being witnessing the continuous victimization of innocent mothers and sisters in various parts of the country.

The Manipur incident has drawn significant attention and has prompted public discussions on social media, with many seeking justice and accountability for the perpetrators of such heinous acts of violence against women.
