Pooja Dadwal, known for her brief stint as a co-star alongside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has had a tumultuous journey. The former actress has had her share of ups and downs one can face in the entertainment industry.

Pooja Dadwal's Background & Bollywood Debut

Pooja Dadwal was born on January 5, 1977, and was drawn to acting from a young age. To hone her skills, she joined an acting institute while juggling her studies. At the age of 17, she made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in the film Veergati (1995).

The film, however, failed to make an impact at the box office, and Pooja's career struggled to take off. She signed a few forgettable movies after this initial setback.

Pooja Dadwal's Television Career & Marriage

As her movie career did not gain traction, Pooja tried her luck into television, where she appeared in two successful shows, Aashiqui (1999) and Gharana (2001). Despite her TV success, Pooja continued to face challenges in securing notable film roles. Eventually, she decided to settle down.

Pooja got married and relocated to Goa with her husband. There, she managed her husband's casino.

Pooja Dadwal's Health Crisis

In 2018, Pooja's life took a dramatic turn when she fell seriously ill and was diagnosed with severe tuberculosis. Her in-laws and husband chose to discontinue their relationship with her upon learning of her illness, leaving her isolated and alone in Mumbai. Pooja found herself with no health, financial support, job, or family.

She somehow, received help from a few people during her darkest hours. Rajinder Singh, a well-wisher brought her back to Mumbai and got her admitted to a government hospital for treatment.

During this challenging period, Pooja reached out to Salman Khan for financial assistance through a video message on YouTube, and he responded by providing for her medical treatment over the following six months. She also received financial aid from Bhojpuri actor, Ravi Kishan.

Pooja's Current Situation

Determined to make a comeback in the film industry, Pooja faced challenging living conditions. She resided in a small 10x10 chawl with a local family, working as their house help due to her inability to pay rent. In 2020, she made her comeback in acting with the Punjabi film, Shukarana: Guru Nanak Dev Ji Ka.

Unfortunately, the film didn't receive much attention, and Pooja's return largely went unnoticed. To make ends meet, Pooja currently runs a tiffin service, which helps her cover her monthly expenses.
