Zareen
Khan
On
Comparison
To
Katrina
Kaif:
Bollywood
actress
Zareen
Khan,
who
made
her
Bollywood
debut
alongside
Salman
Khan
in
the
movie
Veer,
recently
addressed
the
persistent
comparisons
between
her
and
fellow
actor
Katrina
Kaif.
In
a
candid
'Ask
me
Anything'
session
on
Reddit,
Zareen
revealed
that
being
likened
to
Katrina
had
adverse
effects
on
her
career,
as
it
prevented
her
from
establishing
her
individuality
in
the
film
industry.
Zareen
Khan's
entry
into
Bollywood
was
met
with
much
attention,
owing
to
her
debut
in
the
2010
period
action
drama
Veer.
The
film
was
helmed
by
Anil
Sharma
and
starred
Salman
Khan
in
the
lead.
However,
even
before
the
film's
release,
Zareen
found
herself
facing
constant
comparisons
with
Katrina
Kaif,
who
was
Salman's
close
friend
and
co-star
in
several
films,
such
as
Maine
Pyaar
Kyun
Kiya
and
Partner.
Initially,
Zareen
said
that
she
felt
like
a
lost
child
when
she
entered
the
industry
and
admitted
feeling
pleased
about
the
comparisons,
as
she
herself
was
an
admirer
of
Katrina
and
found
her
to
be
'really
pretty.'
However,
as
time
went
on,
these
comparisons
proved
to
be
detrimental
to
her
career.
ZAREEN
KHAN
SAYS
SHE
DIDN'T
GET
A
CHANCE
TO
PROVE
HER
INDIVIDUALITY
Opening
up
on
the
same,
Zareen
replied
to
reddit
user
who
asked,
"People
compared
you
a
lot
with
Katrina
Kaif
in
your
early
days
in
Bollywood.
How
did
it
make
you
feel
and
did
it
have
any
impact
on
your
career?"
The
actor
replied,
"So
when
I
entered
this
industry,
I
was
literally
like
a
lost
child,
since
I
don't
come
from
a
filmy
background.
So
it
made
me
feel
really
happy
being
compared
to
Katrina
as
I
was
her
fan
too,
and
found
her
really
pretty.
But
it
backfired
on
my
career
as
the
people
of
this
industry
didn't
give
me
a
chance
to
prove
my
individuality."
