For the uninitiated, Zareen Khan was issued an arrest warrant in connection with an alleged cheating incident that took place during the Durga Puja festivities in Kolkata in 2018. Zareen Khan was set to perform at the event, but her absence led to one of the organizers filing a complaint of cheating against her and her manager. After this, an FIR was registered against both of them.

Zareen Khan had cooperated with the authorities during the investigation and claimed that she had been misled by the organizers regarding the scale of the event. She alleged that she was initially informed that the function would be attended by high-ranking officials, including the Chief Minister of Bengal.

However, upon her arrival, she discovered that it was a small-scale event in North Kolkata. Khan also cited miscommunication regarding flight tickets and accommodations as reasons for her absence from the show.

Reacting to the arrest warrant, Zareen Khan had stated, "I'm sure there is no truth to this. I'm surprised too and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR."
