Anu Aggarwal won hearts with her performance in movies like Aashiqui, King Uncle, and more. After starting her career with a bang, she took a break from the industry. But now, she is back in Mumbai, and recently Filmibeat interacted with the actress, and spoke to her about casting couch, #MeToo movement, and a lot more.

When asked her about what made her take a break after such an amazing start, the actress said, "People think you earn money, you become famous, and then everything will be fine, you will become a queen, but it doesn't work like that. I realised this from my own experience because there are challenges in every profession. In acting, you become a public figure, that is a huge challenge because you are watched all the time and you are judged, and that's not easy."

"There are so many challenges, casting couch is not the only one, being in the industry is a challenge. So, I think girls need to be ready for this. A lot of girls come, and they get depressed and they are like 'I didn't expect this to happen'," she added.

She further revealed how one of her female co-actors faced casting couch and came to her for the rescue. Aggarwal said, "In one of the films that I was shooting, a girl flew down from London after speaking to director on the phone. She was a young girl, maybe 18-19 years old. She came to our set and she was staying there. One night, she came and started knocking my door at 11:30 at night, and I opened the door so she was crying and howling away."

"I got her in, and made her sit down, and she said, 'I didn't expect this, he wants me to go to bed with him'. I pacified her, but I also told her 'this is the industry; didn't you know?', and she said, 'no'. So, it is nice that there's this Hema Committee, there's awareness, so girls are getting to know what exactly it is," she added.

Well, a few weeks ago, #MeToo movement was at the peak in the Malayalam film industry, and the Hema Committee Report was making it to the headlines.
