Akshay Kumar New Action Film Updates: Seems like, Akshay Kumar is on a spree of signing back-to-back films. The actor's latest release, Khel Khel Mein, is struggling at the box office. The film marked Khiladi Kumar's return to the comedy genre. Amid KKM's poor performance at the box office, rumours are rife that Akshay has teamed up with Pathaan director for a big-budget film. Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein Box Office Performance

Khel Khel Mein, starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal, had a grand Independence Day 2024 release, clashing with Stree 2 and Vedaa. Amid Stree 2 tsunami, both KKM and Vedaa have been struggling to pull audiences to theatres.

According to Sacnilk, Khel Khel Mein, made on a whopping budget of over Rs 200 cr reportedly, has managed to earn Rs 17.25 cr only in 6 days.

Did Akshay Kumar Sign Big Action Film With Pathaan Director?

Amid Khel Khel Mein box office struggle, we hear that Akshay has come on board for Pathaan director Siddharth Anand's upcoming production venture. According to Pinkvilla, Akshay and Siddharth have teamed up for a big budget action film, which will be directed by Milan Luthria and backed by Siddharth-Mamta Anand's Marflix.

"Siddharth has got together the director-writer duo of Milan Luthria and Rajat Arora to develop an action film set against the zone of a vigilante film. When the script was locked, the trio unanimously felt that Akshay Kumar is the best fit for the film and on hearing the script, Akshay also felt that this is the right film for him to associate with at this point of time," a source informed the portal.

"Akshay loves the action space and is always up for challenges. The Milan Luthria directorial will see him in a never seen before avatar, that does justice to the legacy created by him in action. Sid and Mamta are excited for this new collaboration with the Khiladi," the source concluded.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in 'Sky Force'. He also has 'Jolly LLB 2', 'Singham Again', 'Housefull 5', 'Hera Pheri 3', 'Welcome To The Jungle' and C Sankaran Nair biopic film lined up ahead of him.
