Exclusive! Anupam Kher On Completing 40 Years In The Industry, "I Had Not Thought About 40 Years Or 50 Years"

Anupam Kher is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors we have in the industry. He started his career with 1984 release Saaransh which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt. At the age of 29, he portrayed the role of an old man and won Filmfare Best Actor award for his fantastic performance in the movie. Just a few days ago, Saaransh completed 40 years of its release which means Kher also completed 40 years in the industry.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Kher, and when asked him if he had thought that he would have such a long journey in the industry, the actor said, "I am an eternal optimist. For me the ultimate definition of optimism is nothing is all wrong; even a clock that has stopped running is right twice a day. I had not thought about 40 years or 50 years, but the way life goes on, I neither think about the past nor the future, I enjoy the present."

"But, I am thankful to God and the people of industry that they have given me so much love, not only in India, but also abroad. I am a Hindi medium guy, and for a Hindi medium guy to do so many films and series abroad, apart from my hard work it is also God's blessings and people's love," he added.

In these 40 years, Anupam Kher has been a part of many memorable films like Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Karma, Tezaab, Chandni, Chaalbaaz, Lamhe, Beta, The Kashmir Files, and a lot more. From comedy to negative roles, Kher has proved his versatility.

The actor was recently seen in the film Chhota Bheem the Curse Of Damyaan. He has multiple films lined up like Emergency, Vijay 69, and others. He is also making his directorial comeback with a movie titled Tanvi.
