AR Rahman-Saira Banu Divorce: AR Rahman and Saira Banu have been making headlines ever since they announced their divorce on Tuesday. Surprisingly, Rahman's band bassist, Mohini Dey, announced her divorce with husband on the same day hours later in her social media post. Netizens were quick enough to connect the dots and claim that the Rahman and Mohini are dating. Now, Rahman and Saira's lawyer, Vandana Shah, released a statement about the same on whether it is true or not.

AR Rahman and Saira Banu's lawyer recently said to Republic TV in a conversation while refuting the rumours, "There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr Rahman made this decision on their own." Vandana also said refusing money matters, "It has not come to this stage yet. It would be an amicable divorce. Both of them are extremely genuine, and this decision was not taken lightly. It is not what you would call a sham marriage."

For the unversed, AR Rahman and Saira Banu announced their separation on Tuesday citing 'emotional strain' on their relationship following which Mohini announced her divorce with husband, Mark Hartsuch.

She wrote in an Instagram post, "With a heavy heart, Mark and I announce that we have separated. First, as a commitment to our friends and family, this is a mutual understanding between us. While we remain great friends, we both have decided that we want different things in life and separation through mutual agreement was the best way to proceed. We will still be working on several projects together including MaMoGi and Mohini Dey groups. We have always prided ourselves on working well together and that will not be stopping any time soon :) The big thing we want to wish is love to everyone out there in the world. We appreciate your support in all of the ways you have given it to us. Please honor the decision we have made by being positive towards us at this time and respecting our privacy. We would appreciate no judgements."
